Where is your office located?

Mountain View Counseling can be found at the following address:

9123 Southeast St. Helens Street
Suite 270E
Clackamas, OR 97015

Is your office accessible?
Yes. My office is on the second floor, but there is an elevator just inside the front door (which has a large button to open the main door).
Is there parking?
Yes, there is free parking in the lot, as well as free street parking if needed.
How do I pay?

When we start working together, I’ll give you access to a client portal to complete paperwork and set up a payment method that you’ll store online.

You can also pay by cash or check.

How long are therapy sessions?
Sessions are typically 50-55 minutes.
Are there other things I should know about your office?
Most service animals are welcome, but unfortunately, we cannot accommodate cats within the office. We would be happy to meet virtually with those clients who need their service cat present.
How do I schedule an appointment?
You can contact me by email or phone if you are interested in scheduling an appointment. Visit the “Contact” page on my website for more details.
What is your cancellation policy?
I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice. Missed sessions or late cancellations may result in a fee.
Do you offer video or phone sessions?
Yes, to both!
What age range do you work with?
I work with individuals aged 14 and up.
Do you work with men? Women? Couples? Adolescents?
I work with men, women, and adolescents. I do not work with families, couples, or children.
How do I know if you’re the right therapist for me?
Having the right therapist for you can be the difference between night and day. I encourage you to schedule a consultation so you can ask me questions and see if my approach feels like it would be a good match for your needs.
What can I expect in the first session?
We’ll get to know each other, talk about your current challenges, discuss your goals for therapy, and answer any questions you may have.
What services do you offer?

I provide grief therapy for all kinds of losses… and support to individuals facing chronic and terminal illness.

I also provide general mental health counseling for individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions.

Is therapy confidential?
Yes, confidentiality is very important when it comes to therapy. What you share with me in session stays private (with a few exceptions, such as the threat of harm to yourself or others). This is something we will go over in more detail at the very beginning of our relationship.
What is grief therapy?
Grief therapy provides support and tools to individuals as they navigate the emotions and challenges that come with loss. I provide a safe space to process these feelings, honor your loved one, and explore ways to move forward while integrating the loss into your life.
What is chess therapy?
Chess therapy uses chess as a tool for enhancing cognitive, emotional, and social skills. It can be beneficial for improving problem-solving abilities, strategic thinking, and patience.
How does chess therapy work?
We might play games while discussing thoughts, emotions, and situations that arise during the game. The patterns in chess can serve as metaphors for real-life scenarios, providing insight and new ways of thinking!
Do you prescribe medication?
No, I am not qualified to prescribe medication.
Does anyone cry in front of you?
Tears are not a requirement to attend therapy. However, tears have proven to be a staple in therapy, especially when it comes to the grief process. I welcome ALL of the tears. There are multiple tissue boxes in the room, but there’s no pressure to use them right away.
